This past weekend, volunteers came together to make downtown Biloxi shine during a community trash pickup event hosted by Altered Reality Brewing. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a shared commitment to keeping our city beautiful, participants began their mission at the brewery and worked their way through the heart of downtown Biloxi.
Among the enthusiastic volunteers were Corey Christy, candidate for City Council in Ward 1, and several members of his campaign team. Corey’s participation showcased his dedication to preserving the charm of Biloxi and his hands-on approach to community involvement.
“Events like these are a reminder of what makes Biloxi such a special place—the people. We all have a role to play in taking care of our city and ensuring it remains a beautiful, welcoming community for everyone,” Corey said.
The event brought together individuals from all walks of life, unified by a shared goal: to create a cleaner, greener downtown. The group collected dozens of bags of trash, improving the area for residents and visitors alike.
Altered Reality Brewing played a vital role in organizing the event, providing a starting point for the cleanup and a space for volunteers to gather afterward. The brewery exemplified the community spirit that defines Biloxi, offering participants refreshments and an opportunity to connect.
This cleanup effort is just one example of how Corey Christy is working alongside community members to create positive change in Ward 1. By rolling up his sleeves and participating in events like these, Corey is proving his commitment to fostering a thriving, vibrant city.
